Nigerian music sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made history on YouTube Music. His album Rave & Roses Ultra has become the first African project to surpass 3 billion streams on the platform, setting a groundbreaking record.
The achievement marks a major milestone for African music on the global stage. The ultra version of Rema’s debut album, Rave & Roses, played a key role in reaching this record-breaking figure, with massive contributions from his global hit “Calm Down” and its chart-topping remix featuring American pop star Selena Gomez.
In addition to its YouTube success, Rave & Roses Ultra also leads on Spotify, where it stands as the most streamed African album with an impressive 3.9 billion streams. It was the first African album to cross the 2 billion mark on Spotify and remains the only Nigerian project to do so.
Rema’s continued success highlights the growing influence of Afrobeats and African artists in the global music scene.
